Marineterrein Amsterdam

Marineterrein

SPcitI  is working together with the team of the Atelier Rijksbouwmeester and the Municipality of Amsterdam on developing a set of strategic “spatial starting points” (Nota van Uitgangspunten) for the future of the Marineterrein, a historical site in the heart of Amsterdam. The goal is to create a breeding ground for an International Innovation District with an adaptive development strategy. The project aims to embed the former secret Navy area into the eastern part of the city center, by using the magnificent marine and cultural site features, and by opening the area for everyone.

Guidelines for Adaptive Development

Marineterrein adaptief ontwikkelen

Leidraad adaptief ontwikkelen has just been published. Written by Peter van Assche (bureau SLA), Marieke Berkers en Vincent Kompier for Bureau Marineterrein Amsterdam, the document investigates the choice for adaptive development as a model based on core values that is incremental and responsive through time.

The document draws from several workshops and brainstorming sessions and other contributions about the Marineterrein. Gert is mentioned among the slimme geesten (smart minds) who inspired its content. Vormgeven aan de Spontane Stad is also mentioned as a reference.
